Made it on the cover of The Surfers Journal!! Yeeeeow!

At the beginning of 2017 I set out a challenge to get my unique photo of the ocean rip captured at Boranup Beach (near Margaret River, Western Australia) in as many surfing magazines around the world as possible with the intention to make it on the front cover of at least one.

I reached out to every magazine publisher that I could find and it definitely was a humbling experience receiving a lot of positive feed back and encouragement. Crazy how instantaneous it is to communicate with a publisher from the other side of the world just by a click of a few buttons. Well fortunately, my button clicking eventually resulted in the editor of The Surfers Journal responding to my email.

Having had surfing mags around me in my teens and 20's, TSJ stood out as "Holy Grail" of surf photography magazines with its journal-like print quality and creativity of their photography being more like art form than stock standard surfing pics. So even if they had my photo on half a page I would be stoked.

Well, a week before being published I got the good news.. The Editor had made some changes and the photo was to published on the cover page!! Holy sh**balls.. What just happened??!!
